It is important to remember that delivering Family Life Education is the responsibility of school boards. They all use the curriculum and program (the expectations and the books) that are approved by the Bishops of Ontario. The new Family Life Curriculum document will be implemented in September 2024 which will give everyone time to become familiar with the new curriculum document and gives time for resources to support teachers in teaching it to be developed, reviewed and approved.

“Family Life Education is not simply a matter of relating knowledge – above all, we hope that students will come to see the beauty of God’s gift of family, marriage, and sexuality.”
— Bishop Daniel Miehm, Chair of the ACBO Education Commission
