We all have gifts and talents! We have been given these by Our Loving God to serve Him through serving others in our community. It is essential that each of us use and nurture our talents rather than to let them lie dormant. At the Second Vatican Council, the leaders of the Church re-emphasized that it is the call to each of the Baptised to be involved in building God’s Kingdom and proclaiming the Good News. Your parish family needs you!
The following ministries will be represented: Altar Servers, Bereavement, Children’s Church, Decorators, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Mass Hospitality Team, Music/choir, Lectors, Catholic Women’s League, and the Knights of Columbus.

Lectors
We are looking for more people to faithfully proclaim the Word of God at our Sunday Masses. Please consider joining us! As a lector you would be asked to either proclaim the readings of Scripture assigned for that particular Mass, or announce the hymns and prayers of the faithful as a commentator. You may choose your preferred Mass at which to read, and you would be scheduled approximately every 3-5 weeks. Training is provided.
.

Altar Serving
Consider serving your parish by assisting the priest at the altar during mass. We are looking for children and youth who have made their 1st Communion, who are interested in, and able to learn skills for serving at Mass You will be asked to serve at a minimum of one Saturday or Sunday per month; serving more frequently is encouraged to learn the skills more quickly. Initial training involves about 3-4 sessions at the church for approx. 90 minutes. Periodically, additional training is provided for special occasions such as Easter
.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Saint Patrick Parish Eucharistic Ministry is looking to recruit interested persons to help our Celebrant to serve Communion at Mass. You would be serving approximately one (1) Mass per month. Duties include set up, distribution of Communion and clean up after each Mass. Training will be provided.

Bereavement Ministry
Our Bereavement ministry supports those in our Parish community when they suffer the loss of a loved one by sending a sympathy card signed by our pastor. We also organize a memorial Mass on All Souls’ Day each year to remember and support all those in our parish community who have lost a loved one in the past year and organize a reception following the Mass .
.

Decorating Committee
The Decorating Team enhances the liturgical space according to the seasons so that parishioners’ praise-filled and thankful worship are heightened. Do you have an artistic talent or just an artistic sense? We need you. Or maybe you just like decorating with plants & flowers.
The time commitment depends on the liturgical or special seasons – Lent/Holy Week/Easter, Thanksgiving, Advent/Christmas are our busiest times when we may spend a few hours the morning prior to the eventual Celebration of Liturgy.
During Ordinary Time we make use of Green Plants.

Children’s Church

Mass Hospitality Team (Greeters)
We are looking for more people to show our parishioners and guests Warm-Hearted hospitality when they come in for weekend Masses. If you were to consider helping out with this ministry, your other duties would include taking up the collection, placing the monies collected in the safe after Mass and closing up the church on the weekends that Fr. Jude or Fr. Bob preside. You would be scheduled once or twice per month.

Alpha
Alpha helps churches to develop a culture of hospitality and invitation by creating a space where anyone is welcome; where people can feel listened to and loved; where the stranger can become a friend; and where people far from God can find a place to belong. Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith. Alpha creates a culture of invitation within our Family of Parishes community and is a great “front door” for people exploring faith

Alpha Youth
Alpha Youth creates a space for young people to hold meaningful conversations about life, faith and purpose. Discussion time is interspersed throughout the short talks to make it simpler for them to share their thoughts and questions.

Bible Study
Our Ascension Bible Study series take you on a journey to explore different themes (Jesus, Mary, the Mass, etc.) to better know our faith through scripture, and to build the practice of praying with scripture to hear the voice of God in our lives. By taking time every day with the Word of God we soak in His Word and are better able to imitate the life of Jesus. We do this because we want to know Jesus and what He wants for our life.
